The climate in Berlin
Situated in northeast Germany on the River Spree, Berlin is the largest city in the country with a population of 3.5 million. Berlin is a centre for culture, politics, media, and science and a popular destination for tourists. Attractions include the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, and the East Side Gallery, murals that are painted onto the largest remaining portion of the Berlin Wall. Berlin has a temperate oceanic climate. Winters are cold with average high temperatures around 3°C and lows around -2°C. Summers are warm and sometimes humid with high temperatures of 22 to 25°C and lows of 12 to 14°C. The city has moderate rainfall throughout the year and possible snow during the winter months.
