The climate in Dublin
Located on Ireland’s east coast, at the mouth of the River Liffey, Dublin is the capital and most populous city of Ireland with a population of almost 530,000 in the centre and almost 2 million in the metropolitan area. Dublin is a historical and cultural centre for the country with influences in education, the arts, economy, and industry. The main attractions include Dublin Castle, the Spire of Dublin, Trinity College, the Temple Bar area, and the Guinness brewery. Dublin has a maritime climate with mild winters and cool summers. The average high temperatures in winter are around 8°C. In summer, average highs range between 18 and 20°C. Strong Atlantic winds are common in autumn, and rainfall is common throughout the year.
