The climate in Florence
Florence is located in North Western Italy and is the capital city of the region of Tuscany with a population of 370,000 inhabitants. Considered the birthplace of Renaissance and as a centre of medieval European trade and finance, it is famous for its rich artistic and cultural history. In 1982, the city was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attracts million of tourists annually. It was ranked as one of the most beautiful cities in the world by Forbes because of its Renaissance art and monuments. The city features a large number of museums and art galleries such as the Pitti Palace. It enjoys a Mediterranean climate with warm, humid summers and cool winters. The average high in August is 31°C. In wintertime, some snow can occur, and the average temperature is 11°C in January.
