The climate in Buxton

A spa town in Derbyshire in the East Midlands, Buxton is also the highest market town in England. It is known as the gateway to the Peak District National Park. The town is home to Poole’s Cavern, a limestone cavern that is open to the public and a geothermal spring that has a constant temperature of 28°C. The spring is piped to St. Ann’s Well. Due to its elevation, Buxton is cooler than the surrounding areas. High temperatures in summer are around 16 to 18°C. In winter, the average high temperature is about 5°C. Rainfall is common throughout the entire year with an annual average precipitation of 1,300mm.
