Salisbury is a cathedral city in the county of Wiltshire. Found in the southeast of Wiltshire County near the Salisbury Plain in South West England, Salisbury is a cathedral city with a population of 40,302. The city is at the confluence of five rivers: the Nadder, Ebble, Wylye, Bourne, and Avon. Salisbury was established in 1220 and is known for its 11th century cathedral. Today, the cathedral houses four surviving copies of the Magna Carta and the oldest surviving mechanical clock in Britain. The city also attracts visitors thanks to its close proximity to Stonehenge. Salisbury has an oceanic climate featuring warm summers and mild to cool winters. The average high temperature in the summer is around 21 to 22°C. In winter, it is about 7°C with lows near 1°C. Annual precipitation is about 735mm. The city is also one of the sunniest locations in inland UK with over 1,650 hours a year.
