The climate in Swansea

A coastal city and county, Swansea is the second largest city in Wales with a population of 239,000. The city is bordered by Swansea Bay and the Bristol Channel. During the 19th century, Swansea was a key centre of the copper industry. Today, this Welsh city’s economy is mainly based around public administration, education, health, banking, finance, and insurance. Swansea has a temperate oceanic climate. Thanks to its location on the coast, it has a milder climate than inland areas. However, it has rain-bearing winds from the Atlantic. The average high temperatures in summer are around 17 to 19°C. In the winter, the temperatures are around 6 to 8°C.
