The climate in Winchester
Situated at the western end of the South Downs along the River Itchen in South East England, Winchester is a historic city and the county town of Hampshire. It has a population of 44,714. The city traces its roots back to the Iron Age and was once the capital of the country. The Winchester Cathedral is the most well known landmark in the city, and it is one of the largest cathedrals in Europe. The Great Hall of Winchester Castle is another popular destination, famous for King Arthur’s Round Table. The city has a climate characterised by cool to warm summers and mild winters.
