One of the most disastrous hailstorms in the UK was seen on the 9th of August 1843 between the Cotswolds and Norfolk. This caused a lot of damage! In northern Oxfordshire roofs were literally turned into small pieces, in Cambridge glass doors and roofs were totally ruined in colleges and public buildings and in Norfolk, crops were completely damaged.
