The climate in Malaga
This city belonging to the community of Andalusia is the sixth largest in Spain with a population of 568 000. The capital of the Costa Del Sol is incredibly popular with tourists and holidaymakers thanks to its hot climate and beaches. Tourists also come to visit the birthplace of Pablo Picasso and the Picasso museum situated here. Popular resorts in the city include Torremolinos, Marbella and Benalmaldena. Golf is a popular activity here and the city boasts over 30 golf courses. The climate in Malaga is a subtropical – Mediterranean one. Winters are very mild and summers very hot. The city enjoys around 300 days of sunshine a year with only 50 days of rainfall on average. Winters here are the warmest of any city in Europe with average daytime temperatures of 17-18°C. In the summer temperatures vary between 26 and 35°C.
