The climate in Chichester

Located on the River Lavant in West Sussex in South East England, Chichester is a cathedral city with a population of 23,731. First settled by Romans and then Anglo-Saxons, the city is the site of a 12th century cathedral and some of the oldest churches and buildings in the UK. The main sights include the Chichester Cathedral, Chichester Gate Leisure Park, the South Downs Planetarium and Science Centre, and several marinas. Chichester has an oceanic climate characterised by cool winters and warm summers. The average high temperature in summer is about 24°C. In winter, the average high is around 8°C with lows near 4°C. The city receives about 577mm of precipitation each year and benefits from high levels of sunshine.
