The climate in Halifax
Situated at the southeast corner of the South Pennines in West Yorkshire, England, Halifax is a minster town with a population of 82,056. From the 15th century, the town was well known as the centre of England’s wool manufacturing. As the home of Mackintosh chocolate and toffee, the town also had strong ties to confectionery. Popular attractions are Eureka! The Museum for Children, Victoria Theatre, and the town’s busy night life. Halifax has a climate characterised by cool summers and mild winters. The average high temperature in summer is 19°C with night time lows of 12°C. In winter, the high temperature is typically near 6°C with lows near 2°C. Rainfall is spread fairly evenly throughout the year with an average of 9 days of precipitation in July and 15 days in both December and January.
