Found on the River Medway in Kent in South East England, Maidstone is the county town with a population of 113,137. Historically, the river was a source of the town’s trade as the agricultural centre of the county. Today, the town has the largest office centre in Kent and is a base for the paper and packaging industry as well as home to large shopping centres. Landmarks include All Saints’ Church, the Hazlitt Theatre, and the Maidstone Museum and Art Gallery. Maidstone has a maritime climate characterised by cool summers and mild winters.
