The climate in Falmouth

Famous for its harbour, the third deepest natural one in the world, Falmouth is a port located in South West England on the south coast of Cornwall. It has a population of 21,630 inhabitants and is now a popular tourist resort and holiday destination. The town is well known for its literary connections as the birthplace of Kenneth Graham’s classic “Wind in the Willows”. Several scenes of the movie “World War Z” starring Brad Pitt were also filmed on the Docks and off the coast. It experiences a temperate oceanic climate, which is England’s mildest climate due to the influence of the Gulf Stream. Despite the large amount of rainfall, it is one of the sunniest areas in the United Kingdom. The average temperature in August is 20°C and rarely exceeds 22°C. In January, the maximum temperature is 9°C and 4°C is the minimum.
